Mark Eisner, M.D., M.P.H.

Director

Dr. Eisner is a biotechnology executive with extensive experience in global clinical development and regulatory strategy across multiple therapeutic areas. He most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Vir Biotechnology, Inc., where he oversaw clinical development, regulatory sciences and medical affairs. 

Prior to joining Vir Bio, he served as Chief Medical Officer at Sonoma Biotherapeutics and FibroGen, Inc. (now known as Kyntra Bio, Inc.), and as a Scientific Advisory Board member for Aer Therapeutics. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly 11 years at Genentech/Roche, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, including Senior Vice President and Global Head of Product Development for Immunology, Infectious Disease, and Ophthalmology. 

Dr. Eisner serves as a board director for Zura Bio Limited.  

Prior to entering the biopharmaceutical industry, Dr. Eisner was Professor of Medicine and Anesthesia at University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Eisner holds an AB degree in Human Biology from Stanford University, an MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MPH focused on epidemiology from University of California, Berkeley School of Public Health.
